About Us

In Mapudungun, the language of the Mapuche, a native tribe from the south and central and regions of Chile, “Longko Milla” means “head of gold”. In the central region of the country,  the Loncomilla river borders at the Andes Mountains and ends in the Pacific Ocean. For thousands of years, this water has given life to the lands and survival to the Mapuches. Today, it irrigates the vineyards that have been cultivated in this priviliged valley.

In these lands is born “Longko Milla”, an innovation of the Balduzzi Family as tribute for this prodigious land and nature, and to the Mapuches that laid at this zone in the past. With Italian origin and 300 years of viticulture tradition, the family arrived to Chile in 1906. Since then, they continue with the passion and drive for making exceptional wine.

Vineyards

The weather conditions of this region consist of dry, hot summers and cold, rainy winters, a high range of thermic oscillation with more than twenty degrees between day-night. These factors are relevant for an exceptional development and ripening process for the grape vines. To obtain the highest quality wine you need healthy vineyards and premium quality grapes. This is how the Family identified specifics terroirs within the Maule Valley, to achieve the most outstanding results on each grape.

Winery

Tradition and modernity join in the colonial winery of the Family with high technology to guarantee a remarkable standard in wine. Among the stainless steel vats and French oak barrels there is a professional team that works with passion, motivation and environment care to produce the Longko Milla wines.
